Caring For Your Jewelry
CARE TIPS FOR STERLING SILVER AND GOLD
STERLING SILVER:
Tarnishing is a natural reaction when sterling silver is in the presence of salt water, air pollutants or everyday items that contain sulfur, such as leather, rubber and chlorine. To remove any tarnish, we recommend routinely wiping your sterling silver jewelry with a white polishing cloth. Regular wear of sterling silver jewelry can also help prevent tarnishing.
· Remove heavy tarnish with warm water, mild soap and a clean, soft white cotton or flannel cloth, a special sterling silver cleaning cloth or a very soft-bristle brush like a baby toothbrush.
· Silver polish or dip-style cleaning solutions are not recommended.
GOLD:
Gold is naturally tarnish resistant, but can lose its luster over time. To maintain its shine, routinely wipe your jewelry with a white polishing cloth.
CARE TIPS FOR PEARLS
The best way to maintain your pearls’ luster is to wear them often. The body’s natural oils help maintain their beauty. Pearls should not be layered with other jewelry as they can become scratched or damaged.
· Please keep your pearls away from perfumes, cosmetics, perspiration, chlorine, salt water, vinegar, ammonia or dirt.
· We recommend that you put on your pearls last, after using hair products and perfume.
· Never wash pearls with an ultrasonic cleaner.
· Remove your jewelry before exercising.
